Hey steve, I gotta question for ya…are those shoes wide? I’ve hated salomon shoes for a long time since it seems like they’re all just built for skinny, scrawny feet. I’m about a size 13 and with a wider foot. And looking for a shoe similar to that style for trails.

Thay fit wider than the XA Pro…no doubt about that. They also have a wider platform under the foot. I really like the XT Wing so far.
Steve – just wondering about the lacing system on those shoes, particularly the eyelets. Are they the plastic eyelets for the laces to go through (like the XA Pro) or are they the looped over pleather (like the XA Comp)?
The reason I ask is that I’ve owned likely 10 pairs of Salomon’s and never had a problem until this fall when I had two pairs of XA Pro’s with the plastic eyelets fail on me – the eyelets snapped off while on a moderately steep sramble where I was stressing the shoe by standing sideways on a steep incline.
Ever had that happen?

The eyelets are leather like the XA Comp. I’ve never had a problem with the eyelets, but we sometimes have people come in the shop who have broken the quick-fit laces. Luckily we have replacements.
