Got a little lucky a couple days ago and had a fun descent of the Southeast Couloir on the South Teton with Chris Figenshau. While many aspects seem to be pretty wind hammered right now, the steep, easterly slopes in the couloir held some surprisingly good snow. I had my helmet cam with me and will try to put a little movie together from the trip. In the meantime, here are a few pictures. (Hover over the image…and use the arrows to advance the picture.) It feels so good to be back, skiing in the high peaks again.
Have a great weekend!
Nice work! Things looks bony up there compared to last year, which I guess is understandable!
This is the third time I’ve skied the SE Couloir and I didn’t think it was really any narrower/bonier than in past years. Maybe a little less snow at the top…but the crux and exit couloir were well filled in.
Those are some beautiful tracks!
Radness.
Sickness!
Nice going boys! Such a sweet line…
Rumor has it Chris might have the first ski descent of the route…back in the day…after Stephen’s first descent in 1990.
Really nice pics! It’s such a spectacular looking line! Congrats!
When I read the heading I didn’t think it would be Chris on the other side of the lens. Very cool.
