“Is anyone headed up to Revelstoke today?”
Randosteve, “Yeah.” The hostel manager hands me the phone. “Hello…this is Steve.”
“Romeo? It’s Greg Hill. My car broke down on my way back to Revelstoke last night. They think it’s the fan belt and is only going to cost $100. To add to it, I left my wallet at home before heading down to Nelson. Can you lend me some cash to get it fixed…or give me a ride to Revelstoke if it’s gonna take a day or two?”
Randosteve, “Sure thing Greg…we’re on our way.”
It always feels good to help a friend in need and we didn’t think twice about helping Greg out. Heading up the road towards Revelstoke, we met up with Greg in the town of Slocan where he had spent the night…sputtering in with a busted fan belt late in the evening. After a bite to eat, we rallied back to the repair shop and picked up his repaired car. I have a feeling this won’t be the last time we see him this week. Drive safe bro!

I heard in Canada they’re more into bartering… maybe he could have bartered his Arcteryx jacket for a fan belt. 🙂
