Great video of an awesome line, Steve!
Thanks AK. Hope the heel is doing well!
Nice ski spray steve…I believe Mark spells his name Newcomb which might mean we dub this line Newc and not Newk. Turiano calls it North Couloir Right, which is misleading since there are three north couloirs (if you don’t count the NE couloir).
Picky…picky. Misleading to whom Evan?
Since one of the three “north couloirs” is off the West Peak of Buck…I’m not sure why it would be included with the two (North Couloir Left (Bubble Fun) and North Couloir Right (Newk)) that come more off the main Buck Mountain massif. If we really wanted to get anal as skiers, I think the North Couloir names could be switched around (meaning Bubble Fun would be North Couloir Right)…looking at it from a skier’s right perspective. But I’m obviously off my rocker anyway…so whateve!
And spelled with a “k”…it looks gnarlier. 😉
I always just called it MY COULOIR and in truth it is my couloir on my mountain so all you others go home, locals only. When I skied it with Mason Cassidy in 2001 or 02 in March it was sick and we were stoked. In Fact, I still am stoked from that climb and ski!
but i would still rather a good day surfing.
