Mountain goats on Granite Peak (12,807′) in the Beartooth Mountains.
Happy Labor Day! I’m back to work today after putting in my own fair bit of labor to reach the summit of Granite Peak, the highest mountain in Montana, over the past few days. Many say that Granite Peak is the hardest state highpoint to surmount and from my experience…it was definitely a doozy! More from the trip later…ciao for now!
Great photo and trip! I’m glad to see that you are not only enjoying the mountains, but also a couple of happy critters. It looks as though they are wearing their seasonalattire…wool. ciao Ciao!
Welcome back D…and thanks!
My guess is that they are loosing their summer coat…and growing their winter coat? Weird it seems…cuz you would think they would just grow more wool/fur/hair for the colder climates…instead of starting from scratch. The little dude seems to be ahead of mum.
INCREDIBLE PHOTO!
The fur quality changes like a dogs coat probably. A more dense coat comes in under it? My pups are shedding again. Their coats are getting thicker.
