Randokitty here for Randosteve:
Steve called today, on the satellite phone, from base camp. The two day trek in to base camp went well, and the team is doing great, settling into camp at over 14, 000ft. At three points along the trek in, the team members’ oxygen levels were tested and all three members seem to acclimatizing well. Tomorrow the plan is to do a short “recon” ski from base camp, to help even further with acclimatization. Then, on Tuesday, the team will head up the mountain to establish Camp One.
Base camp is just starting to be set up and so Steve has limited/no internet access right now. And, I am in Red Rocks, rock climbing, and blogging from random parking lots. So, please be patient with us – it may be a few hours before we can approve comments, but keep ’em coming. I know Steve REALLY appreciates every bit of support.

Bro/Kitty – Thanks for the update – enjoy and stay safe!
You guys are getting so Tech savy. I have problems Blogging from home yet alone from some parking lot at the trailhead while I’m rock climbing. I feel like a jerk working so hard when I could have some clone doing all my work while I ski. Keep up the good work!
positive energy coming your way! be safe and enjoy!
Randokitty here…Thanks Will, on my side of things, it’s either tech-savvy or improving my dirtbag skills. 🙂 Heard from Steve again today. Apparently the team’s skiing recon went well today and he will be headed up the mountain tomorrow towards Camp One.
