How many couloirs do you see on this Wind River peak?

Finally, the weather forecast is looking good for more than just a few hours and today I am off to ski in the Wind River Range of Wyoming for five days. It may be a little soggy on the hike/ski in and for the last year I have been dreaming about skiing at least one of the couloirs that we hope to attempt on this trip. These late season ski trips into the Wind River Range aren’t for everybody, but they can be very rewarding for those that don’t mind putting in the effort to get to the goods. I’ll be back next week…ciao for now and LIVE TO SKI!!!!
Steve, I see too many of them! Have a good skiing.
hope its ELLING-GOOD for you!
It snowed up here last night on the Pinedale side.
Some of the ultralight camping/hiking ideas and methods might be useful for AT skiing and camping. http://tinyurl.com/ultrlite is one guys experiments. See also Six Moons, Prolite, Mountain Laurel Design, all have interesting gear. Have you tried or considered?
You should do some fly fishing while there – Wind River Range has some of the best spots in the country.
rob…it was elling-GREAT!!!! 🙂
derek…skins on within 3 miles of elkhart on the way in. lots of transitions from skis to walking (and back) on the way out though.
yeah thanks adayak…but i think the only think you’re catching with a fly rod in the winds right now are some ice chunks. better bring your ice auger!!! 🙂
Adayak SHHHHHHHHHHH
