Check out this sickter POV and line JD Hare skis in the Tantalus Range of British Columbia. I think I’ve driven by this zone a couple times on the way from Vancouver to Whistler for some rando racing back in 2004 or so. Sure makes you want to drive on up there to check it out…eh?! 🙂
Hoo-ee, there’s a line for ya.
Serious line. Rad! Great editing.
Isn’t JD Hare a telemarker? Was he telemarking in the video?
Good one….
Some great climbing in this area….And the ski mountaineering is great, you have to be patient in regards to stability it could take years to ski some of these lines..
I remember in the eighties going to Whistler with the high school ski team and I would just stare at the Tantalus range from the school bus…. Years later some of my friends who have been skiing whistler forever still do not know where Tantalus is..
The east face has only been done once by (Johnny Foon and Eric Pehota)
Sick line in the JR clip.
I saw Deeper last night. Wow, soooo sick! I know you guys have talked about this before, but it seems a board can handle steeper than skis due to not having the inside ski and boot to catch or get in the way of the outside ski edge. The problem is if rider get stuck, they can’t walk or step up, so they have to be really sure of their line. Theres that scene where he’s hanging off his ice axes in Chamonix… Yikes
jim…i haven’t seen the whole movie yet, but it sounds awesome. your argument sounds kinda logical, but touring on a snowboard still seems to be a detracting factor in the bigger backcountry picture.
