I was testing out a new helmet cam on this trip and the picture was a little over exposed…sorry! I also included the YouTube version in case anyone is having trouble with the Vimeo feed.
Hope you like it and have a great Monday!

"Backcountry touring is the kind of sport that doesn’t need any promotion, it seems to me, like mountain climbing doesn’t need any promotion. It promotes itself by the people that are doing it. Promotion, advertisement, commercialization spoils the whole thing. The citizens who appreciate this kind of quiet and remote activity, they don’t want it promoted. They just go up and enjoy it."
-Pepi Stiegler, Jackson Hole Skier magazine 2009.
Yup. And that magazine was free too! Pretty sure I’ve seen Pepi in some ski flicks in the past…and sold him some skins last week.
Wonderful route, imagery and description Steve. I feel the vibe, and appreciate it.
Hey Steve,
Great fantastic shooting as always, very much appreciated from Europe.
May I ask what kind of skis (and length) you are one for this descent. I of course noticed the BD logo, but not sure of the model.
Thanks and have fun!
G.
Thanks G!
I usually like skis in the 170-something range for steeper descents. On this day I was using 180cm Verdicts…but I wish I had my 175 Kilowatts. Funny…yesterday I was using the Kilowatts…and wished I had the Verdicts.
hi steve,
u always use pole straps on during descents?
Hey Alex! Yes…I always use my straps. Suffering from “skier’s thumb” right now…but I don’t think straps played a part in the injury though.
Tasty tenderloin!
A little well done. 😆
That snow at the bottom before the apron sounded fun….
so jealous. heard sliver was good today.
Get it while you can Trav!
ak turned into a no go for me. i’m going up some teton peaks this year. stoked on that as always. maybe we should get out next week.
Nice video!
Makes me want to take a trip down to the Tetons!
Whats with the Derick Zoolander voice? Wierd.
